Earlier this year, there was something being teased online about a collaboration between singers Amy Lee (Evanescence), Poppy, and Courtney LaPlante (Spiritbox). This would eventually become the song “End Of You” and when I finally listened to it, my thought was what the hell is this? So with that, let’s take a look………..
Probably in the middle of 2025 there was a photo with all three singers circulating around the Internet. Based on a lot of the comments (that I can recall) many people thought there was going to be a tour with all three bands. Well that turned out to be the song “End Of You.” Now I am NOT a fan of Evanescence whatsoever, I find Poppy to be just ok, and the one singer that I am a fan of is Courtney. I thought this could be an interesting song, but really it felt less of a collaboration and more of an Amy Lee song with a couple of moments with Courtney’s harsher vocals. Like seriously, you can barely hear the other two singers. I just wanna know who the hell thought that this would be a good idea? Even more who actually enjoyed this? Like I said, it feels more like a glorified Evanescence song. I honestly couldn’t even hear Poppy or Courtney (if she was singing clean vocals). The reviews I looked up on this were even more ridiculous. I think someone read that this is a song that has harcore punk, metalcore, symphonic metal, hard rock with arena elements. Seriously? Whoever thought that this song contained any of those elements is seriously tone deaf. Whoever is in charge of picking song of the year or whatever at Metal Injection, Blabbermouth, etc. and says that this is Metal Song Of The Year is also seriously tone deaf and needs to be fired. While I am not a fan of Evanescence or Amy Lee, this still could’ve been good. This had some potential but whoever decided to turn this into a glorified Evanescence song needs to be fired!! This is just a perfect example of hot garbage that the music industry just tries to shove down people’s throats. I have gone ahead and posted the song on this article so you can decide whether or not you think this is actually good. In my opinion this is hands-down one of the worst things to come out of 2025 and again begs the question…………What The Hell Is This??
