For this one I thought I would maybe branch out a bit and do something a little out of left field. So I’m well aware that everybody knows that Chris Cornell died in 2017 (R.I.P.) and in 2019, there was a show at The Forum in LA called I Am The Highway. It was basically a bunch of musicians performing songs that spanned his entire career be it Soundgarden, Audioslave, or Temple Of The Dog. There was one particular performance that stood out and that would be Miley Cyrus performing Temple Of The Dog’s Say Hello 2 Heaven. Like I really honestly can’t say enough great things about how awesome she did singing this song. Like she absolutely killed it with this performance!! When it comes to Miley Cyrus, it’s really easy to write her off as this pop kinda gimmicky singer who only is known for her Hannah Montana thing or whatever. If you’ve listened to the podcast myself and Brian both agree she can absolutely do rock music. She absolutely has my respect to be able to go out in front of that kind of audience and pull off that song I mean come on. I feel like when it comes to someone covering Chris Cornell’s songs, the first choice probably would be someone like Taylor Momsen of The Pretty Reckless. Now she is a great choice but I actually think that if the guys in Soundgarden ever decide to reform the band with a new singer, they should definitely go with Miley Cyrus. She absolutely can do rock music, and she kind of shows that a little bit with her Plastic Hearts album, but I truly think she needs to release a real rock record. If this stubborn metal head can appreciate Miley Cyrus then I encourage you to please give this version a listen it is absolutely bad ass and she kicks ass. RIP Chris Cornell
