Rising Star Reviews: Powder Pink & Sweet

Up next for this Band Spotlight I thought I would go on the more dreamy, shoegaze-y side of things and put the band Powder Pink & Sweet on the Chopping Block.  Let’s take a look……..

If you go on their website or even to their Instagram profile, you’ll see that it says “dreamy music for dreamy people” and that is probably the best way to describe their sound.  What I find interesting about their music is that there are a good amount of textures and layers.  I will say a band like this is a great band to listen to on the drive home after a concert. It’s also great to put on and just do things in the background and it’s also the kind of music where it’ll just kind of put you in sort of calm almost euphoric state of mind. Now recently I was able to see this band live in LA and I have to say they put on a great performance. One might think that the music might drag when performed live, but it really doesn’t and it definitely keeps you interested.  It’s one of those bands that when you see them live you kind of almost wonder “ what are they going to sound like on the next song?”  If you have a chance, I would highly recommend catching this band live and when it comes to streaming their music they have an EP called Little Stories as well as a couple of singles. I definitely recommend this band if you’re looking for something a little different, maybe even outside of your comfort zone.  If this stubborn metal head can get into a band like this you know it has to be good.
