Show Review: Snot 2025/12/05

As the year starts to wind down, bands start to wrap up touring.  However, there are still a handful of shows in the month of December and one such show that I was able to attend was Snot and Spineshank at The Glasshouse in Pomona. Now I was fortunate enough to catch both of these bands in October and with that, let’s take a look……..

It’s been a few years since I’ve seen a show at The Glasshouse (last time I was there was in 2016), but I forgot how much I liked that venue.  By the time I got there, Spineshank was just about to take the stage. Going from a European tour to a one-off show in Pomona is an interesting scenario. It’s been almost two months since I saw them last and quite honestly, they sounded exactly the same here as they did at Aftershock. The only real difference between then and now is that they played a few more songs but they sounded fine.  Now for the main event……………

If you were to tell me back in 2006/2007 that I would be able to see a band that had only really been talked about three times in a year I would’ve said “ you’re crazy.”  Snot has got to be one of THE most energetic bands that I’ve seen in recent years. You can absolutely tell that everybody playing it’s just having the time of their life. As I have said many times, Andy Knapp is absolutely killing it on vocals!! He sounds so much like Lynn it’s uncanny which makes him THE perfect choice to front this band!!!  The band kicked off their set with the song Snot and for the next hour and a half or so, it was a full on ass kicking set.  During the song “Mr. Brett” they brought out Aimee Echo (The Start, Human Waste Project) to do guest vocals and it was just one of those magical moments.

Now, if you have not listened to/checked out the interview that my podcast co-host Brian (Audioeclectica) and I did with Andy definitely give it a listen.  I started this year with Snot at their hometown show in Santa Barbara, again at Aftershock, and towards the end of the year.  I would say that’s a pretty good track record.  But again this band is just so much fun, so energetic, such a good time, and I honestly cannot wait to see what they have in store for next year.

Final Grade: A+
