Coming in at number 73/100 is Linkin Park!! I remember not too long ago where it was cool to hate on this band. However, they really aren’t that bad and they’ve got some great albums. The song for Song Pick Of The Week is “IGYEIH” from the new album From Zero. Let’s take a look…….
Honestly, there were several choices that I had in mind when deciding which song to pick. I ultimately decided on “IGYEIH” because From Zero is just so damn good and has no business being that good! But in all seriousness, “IGYEIH” could easily be on the Hybrid Theory album. It definitely has that aggression and Emily Armstrong is absolutely badass on this song!! From Zero feels like the band took everything they’ve worked on and mixed it all together to create the From Zero album. According to Mike Shinoda, this was one of the last songs that they worked on. He also has said that when they work on demos, the ones that standout are the ones that get made into songs. They did work with songwriter Nick Long who helped the narrative of the songs message of self empowerment and emotional struggle. Again, From Zero is such a good album that has no business being as good as it is!! I’m gonna go out on a limb here and say that I think new singer Emily Armstrong is better than Chester Bennington! I said what I said!!
