For this Spotlight Review, I’ve decided to put the band High Flight on the chopping block. Now if you have not been to a Cobalt Presents show where they have played then you are seriously seriously missing out. Let’s take a look……..
High Flight are a perfect blend of hard rock and blues and the fact that they’re such a young band really shows how great they are. I mean, I hear lots of great influences in this band from bands like Creedence Clearwater Revival, Mountain, and even a slight touch of Sabbath. What I really like about this band is it’s a classic rock band in modern time. They are very classic rock sounding band, but they don’t sound dated at all and I think that’s what makes them so great. I will say that if you have not caught these guys live yet then you are absolutely messing out because every single time I’ve seen them they have absolutely kill it. When it comes to streaming their music online, they really only have two studio singles and two live albums. I don’t think I’ve reviewed a band that has more live albums than studio songs but if you ask me, the real energy is in their live performance and both Live From Studio 201 and Live At Griffins are both great albums. Again, if you’re looking for a great classic rock sounding band then this band is definitely your ticket!!
